IN THE NEWS: PEPSI AND BEYONCE TEAM UP FOR “MIRRORS”

Pepsi have a habit of putting together deals with mega stars so it comes as little surprise that themselves and Beyonce have teamed up to present a new ’60 spot featuring the singer reliving her past looks and dance moves. The ad premiere’s a brief snippet of her track entitled “Grown”. She will progress her involvement with the brand further by helping designing her own special edition can and she “will play a role in establishing the Pepsi Creative Development Fund, which will be devoted to the co-creation of innovative consumer content.”

IN THE NEWS: PEPSI OFFER MASSIVE X FACTOR USA PRIZE

This year’s X Factor USA winner will be walking away with an even bigger prize. Pepsi have raised the stakes by offering the champion a $5m dollar recording deal with Syco, the opportunity to develop and record their first single with an accompanying music video – total creative control reportedly remains with the winner and the end product will be premiered at next year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

IN THE NEWS: PEPSI SIGN 1D IN ‘MULTI MILLION’ DOLLAR DEAL

It’s big news: so big that even The Sun are reporting that One Direction, Ex-X Factor megastars, have signed a deal to front Pepsi in a global ambassadorial deal. The money involved is alleged to be eye watering but One Direction’s representatives have claimed the deal will also introduce band to a new audience whilst reinforcing their footing in the USA. IN THE NEWS: PEPSI CURATE MICHAEL JACKSON REMIX PROJECT

25 years have passed since MJ released the “Bad” album and Pepsi plan to commemorate this milestone by commissioning a series of remixes from the current big names in commercial dance music: Skrillex, Diplo and A-Trak. The mixes will be made available via a scan-able code found on special cans of Pepsi. We don’t know where to look. You can read more here.

IN THE NEWS: PEPSI SIGN NICKI MINAJ FOR ‘POP’ ENDORSEMENT

Nicki Minaj has become the latest in a long list of icons to sign with Pepsi, a brand not immune to spending big on artist endorsement deals. Minaj has been identified by the brand as the perfect ambassador for their newly launched fizzy product, simply named “Pop”! We can see why. IN THE NEWS: CALVIN HARRIS SOUNDTRACKS NEW PEPSI CAMPAIGN

Calvin Harris has delivered an original and bespoke composition to accompany Pepsi’s latest global TVC. Perhaps as a response to Coke’s recruitment of Mark Ronson for their newly launched Olympics spot , Pepsi have signed up Scotland’s no.1 dance music export to soundtrack their 2012 MAX campaign featuring major football talent and Harris himself (Aguero, Messi, Lampard and more). IN THE NEWS: A ROUND UP OF THE MUSIC OF THE SUPER BOWL ADS (2012)

Music is a big part of the Super Bowl and it’s not just about blockbuster half-time performances from The Who, The Rolling Stones and this year, Madonna (with LMAO, M.IA and Nicki Minaj). Over recent years, advertisers have banked their huge spends on music orientated TVC’s to capture the attention of the 110 million strong audiences tuned in from across the globe.
