Year in, year out, John Lewis break the bank with their Christmas blockbuster TVC’s. In fairness they have become something of a cultural event, ever so slightly replicating the heady excitement of a new Levi’s ad gracing our TV screens for the first time in the 1990’s (though of course, two very different audiences are in play).
Music is always at the heart of these John Lewis campaigns, that and spending big on TV placements. Cover versions remain the order of the day. This year Gabrielle Aplin (a new Parlophone signing) takes on Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “The Power of Love”.
